Burton 50/50 94' Twin Snowboard 2027

The Burton 50/50 ’94 Twin takes us back to a pivotal moment in snowboard history. Originally launched in 1994, it was Burton’s first in-line true twin and arrived just as freestyle snowboarding was really beginning to define itself. At the time, riders were literally taking jigsaws to directional boards to create something better suited to riding switch and hitting the park. The ’94 Twin gave them the answer straight out of the box: a completely centred stance, identical nose and tail, and a symmetrical shape designed to be ridden equally well in either direction. For Burton’s 50th anniversary, that iconic concept is back, retaining its unmistakable ’90s freestyle DNA while bringing the construction firmly up to modern standards.

Underneath the retro looks is a proper modern freestyle snowboard. Traditional Camber gives the ’94 Twin plenty of pop, response and dependable edge hold, while its true twin shape and twin flex make switch riding feel completely natural. With a personality sitting on the playful-to-medium side of the scale, it’s accessible enough for pressing, buttering and messing around on side hits, but there’s still enough support when you want to load up the camber and send something bigger. Burton rates it a full 10/10 for park and 7/10 for all-mountain riding, which tells you exactly where its priorities lie: rails, jumps, side hits, flat-ground tricks and creative riding all over the resort.

Burton has brought the construction up to date with its lightweight Super Fly® II 700G Core, backed up by Triax™ fibreglass and a Carbon I-Beam™ for extra snap and strength without turning it into an overly stiff freestyle deck. Frostbite Edges help provide confident grip when the pistes get firm, while the fast, durable sintered base is exactly what you want for carrying speed into jumps and across the mountain. The Channel® completes the package with almost unlimited stance adjustment. The result is much more than a piece of Burton nostalgia: the ’94 Twin celebrates where modern freestyle snowboarding came from while still being a board you’ll genuinely want to ride today.

Tech:

  • Ability: Intermediate+
  • Style: Park / Freestyle
  • Camber: A Camber Bend advocates powerful turns and poppy precision, offering snappy suspension with weight distributed evenly across the entire board for smooth, continuous edge control from tip to tail.
  • True Twin, 0mm setback: Totally symmetrical, perfect for switch riding, freestyle and park
  • Super Fly II™ 700G Core: 700G Core is a dual-species wood core that is loaded with pop and reduces overall weight without limiting performance.
  • Triax™ Fibreglass with Carbon I-Beam™: Glass strands are weaved together in three directions, at +45 degrees, 0 degrees, and –45 degrees, increasing torsional stiffness with the same weight and strength as biaxial glass. A full length of carbon is layered beneath the wood core and acts as an ultralight carbon backbone to increase pop and longitudinal snap.
  • Sintered Base: Sintered polyethylene producing higher speeds and increased durability.
  • Frostbite Edges: They feature small, localised bumps or extensions of the edge underneath the bindings, creating additional contact points with the snow. This design enhances edge hold, especially in icy conditions, making the board more stable and responsive.
  • Infinite Ride™: With Infinite Ride, your board will maintain it’s flex, pop and feel from day one, season after season.
  • The Channel®: The Channel® Board Mount is compatible with all major bindings and lets you dial in the stance exactly the way you like it..
  • Super Sap® Epoxy: Super Sap® is gentler on the planet but still delivers the same strength and durability that Burton demand when building boards
  • Graphic: Throwback 1994 Burton Twin
  • Personality: 2 - 6 (Playful - Medium)
  • Terrain: Park: 10/10, All-Mountain: 7/10, Powder: 2/10
  • Warranty: 3 Year Manufacture Defect Warranty
