Snowboard Servicing at The Snowboard Shop

Servicing by Sophie

If you want to get the most out of your snowboard then you want to make sure you keep it in tip top condition! We offer in-house servicing here at The Snowboard Shop which is all done by hand and with love by Sophie.

Sophie has been servicing for a number of years and has finessed her technique to ensure you get blistering fast speed from your snowboard and fantastic edge hold.

We use a high quality 'all-temp' wax, normally a Canadian Beaver Wax. If you'd rather use a different temperature wax then please ask for details when you drop your kit off.

We do not have any machines here, all snowboards (and skis) are 100% hand-serviced, so the finish is excellent.

You can bring your board / skis in at a time to suit you. Please check our Opening Times before you plan to visit us.

For convenience, we have a driveway to the left of the shop that you can use to save you from carrying your kit though town. If this is full, then there is some parking on Albert Street opposite or plenty more parking spots at the pay and display car park at the Oatsheaf Pub which is a two minute walk.

Snowboard and Ski Servicing

  • Snowboard Servicing

Please remove bindings from your snowboard before you come in as we cannot service boards with the bindings mounted. If you do not know how to remove your bindings please bring your board in and we will show you how and ask you to take your bindings with you.

Please do not bring in your snowboard bag (we do not have the room to store it).

    • Wax Only - £20
    • Wax and Edge Full Service - £30
    • P-Tex Repair (Dependent on size, minimum of £5)
  • Ski servicing

You can leave bindings on your skis but please remove them from your ski bag before you bring them in. Ski ties may be left on your skis.

(have you ever considered snowboarding instead 😜)

    • Wax Only - £25
    • Wax and Edge Full Service - £35
    • P-Tex Repair (Dependent on size, minimum of £5)

Collecting Your Equipment

We have a busy but small servicing area which means we have very limited space to store boards and skis ready for collection. Unfortunately there have been instances where we have been keeping hold of completed servicing for much longer than we should – the record is 15 months before collection and some have never been collected. So we are now having to ask customers to collect their completed servicing within 7 working days of being notified that the equipment is ready for collection.

If you are unable to collect within 7 working days, please contact us by phone/email/whatsapp to let us know when you will be able to collect. We can store your equipment free of charge for up to 2 weeks for you.

If you can't collect within 7 working days?

If you do not collect your servicing from us within the 7 working day time period or at an agreed time in advance, then we will now be applying a storage fee of £10 per week, per item of servicing.

Our preference would be to not have to charge any storage fees and move your skis or snowboard around unnecessarily so we hope that our customers new and old will understand why we have had to make this change, and help us to ensure we can continue to offer the high levels of ski and snowboard servicing we offer.

Did you want to service your own snowboard / skis?

We sell a wide range of products that will allow you to service your own snowboard or skis. We sell full kits as a complete package or you can just buy the individual parts you need. Please get in touch if you're not sure what items you need.
