Once Upon A Time...

....there was a very grumpy man. He worked in a job he hated, working for 'the man' doing meaningless tasks that crushed his soul and soured his mood. He left his job, packed his bags and travelled across the Atlantic in search of mountains covered in the freshest snow. For months he snowboarded every day, loving being in the mountains and loving his life. But, all good things must come to an end. With tears in his eyes and a pain in his heart he returned to his homeland. With no work and little money a decision had to be made. To go back to work for the corporate monster was not a possibility this enlightened man could face, and so with balls of steel (and a ridiculously supportive wife) he sold his house, moved in with his parents and used the money to build his dream - a Snowboard Shop where he could stock his favourite brands and meet likeminded snowboarders. The result?

18 years later and we're still going strong. We are an independently owned and run shop that stocks rad brands at decent prices. As time has gone on we have diversified from just selling snowboards & skateboards to stock other ‘Alternative Outdoor’ products including Stand Up Paddleboards, Electric Skateboards & Stunt Scooters.

ALL of the staff are snowboarders, skaters and keen paddleboarders so we have first hand experience in the equipment we stock and extensive knowledge about what could work best for you.

You could buy online at thesnowboardshop.co.uk but if you're close enough, we'd love to meet you in the shop, talk snowboarding and have a cuppa

Meet The Team...

  • Big Boss - Darren

An ex-seasonnaire, Darren has been shredding since the mid 90's. Being the 'Big Boss' he is the most powerful and feared member of The Snowboard Shop Team. He spends most of his day making the website pretty and shouting out that he needs more tea.

  • Little Boss - Oli

Oli has been riding for 25 years and for some strange reason he also learnt to ski. Although he is 'Little Boss' sometimes he thinks he is in charge of the whole shabang. He is in charge of the shop in Fleet and does the majority of the buying. He is also supreme lord over the Shop Monkeys.

  • Shop Monkey - Sophie

Sophie is pretty new to snowboarding but can throw down a pretty sick scorpion when least expected. She works the shop floor and talks a hell of a lot, I mean seriously... she talks way too much but we've kinda got used to it. When she's not on the shop floor tending to your every whim she is out the back servicing snowboards. She is our resident technician and takes pride in how fast she can make your snowboard (or skis) for you next trip. If she is not helping customers or in the tech room she is making tea for 'Big Boss'.

  • Grande Shop Monkey - Adam

Adam has been riding for well over 20 years. He has fallen from the mighty height of 'Little Boss' to become the Grande Shop Monkey and is now an official shop snowboard Tester and helps with the buying.

  • Ethan Smith

I still think of Ethan as a young kid, but he's actually a lot older than I thought. It only seems like yesterday when he was dragged into the shop by his Mum & Nan and as I recall, he pretty much didn't speak a single word. Fast forward a bunch of years, and although Ethan is older, he still comes in with his Mum & Nan... but he actually now strings a sentence or two together (we all know that the emails from 'Ethan' are actually from Nan though).

Ethan has spent the last six months living in Austria and training hard. This season he's mastered a few new invert tricks and has switchback triple 16s on lock-down and is now working towards nailing his 18s.

  • Ollie Hill

First off, look at that thing around his neck... this boy brought home a sweet medal from Beijing in the banked slalom at his first ever Olympics. Darn impressive I think you'll agree. He spends his winter jetting around the globe, training, competing and by accounts, living the dream.

Off season, he's in Portugal and when he pops back to Blighty he only lives 10 minutes from the shop so he makes sure he drops in to see us for a catch up.

    Bloody lovely chap.
