The Never Summer Eclipse 2027 snowboard is a directional all-mountain freeride board designed for riders who want strong carving performance, dependable edge hold and stability at speed. Built around Never Summer’s Triple Camber Recurve profile, it delivers a powerful and locked-in feel on hardpack and icy conditions while still remaining versatile enough for mixed terrain and powder days. The board combines a medium-stiff flex with a tapered directional shape and setback stance, giving it a confident, aggressive personality that suits intermediate to advanced riders looking for one board that can handle almost everything on the mountain.
On snow, the Eclipse has excellent grip, a damp ride quality and ability to charge through chopped-up terrain without feeling unstable. It floats well in powder thanks to its directional design and early-rise nose, while still offering enough pop and energy for side hits and natural freestyle riding. However, it is less focused on park and jib performance and may feel too technical or “locked in” for beginners or riders who prefer a looser, surfier style. Overall, the Eclipse stands out as a high-performance daily driver for snowboarders who prioritise carving, speed and all-mountain versatility.
Tech:
- Triple Camber Recurve Profile: Recurve brings you the ultimate, energetic all mountain feel of traditional camber while giving you an easier ride and more powerful edge hold, made possible by Triple Camber's R.I.P. Edge Hold Technology. This profile dominates all over the mountain and on all different variations of snow.
- Directional Shape, 32mm Setback: A longer nose and a shorter tail, the very essence of a freeride snowboard. With the rider weight slightly shifted to the rear of the snowboard, you get easier float in the fresh snow and you save the dreaded leg burn by not having to lean back as must as you would on a twin snowboard.
- Flex - Mid-Stiff (6/10): Responsive and powerful with a freestyle mindset.
- PowerSurf Wood Core: A high percentage of lightweight Paulownia is combined with Poplar and Birch running down the middle of the core and Poplar along the sidecut edge. Adding strength and the optimum amount of torsional rigidity. These woods are strategically placed in crucial areas of the core for a durable yet lightweight feel.
- T3 Directional Carbon Mapping: It optimises carbon placement to provide strategic, directional pop, increased response and improved stability, particularly in the tail, while allowing for a slightly softer more playful nose.
- Early Rise Float Mechanics: This front end rise and float design gives a board incredible lift in powder, slush and heavier snow conditions. This also provides very smooth turn initiation compared to a traditional steeper kick transition that tends to plow or push snow when engaging a turn.
- Vario Power Grip Sidecut: Utilises multiple radiuses creating extra contact points to enhance edge hold.
- R.I.P. Edge Hold Tech: Amplifies edge performance, guaranteeing maximum stability and control in any condition while allowing for easy edge tunes. Instead of the traditional 'grabby' wavy edges that drag through the snow, this technology integrates waves into the board’s profile on the base plane, creating multiple high pressure points while allowing for smooth glide without drag.
- STS Pre-tensioned Fibreglass: An advanced pre-hardened, pre-tensioned, layered laminate that has added elastomer stringers. This produces a stronger bond between the individual glass laminates giving NS snowboards unmatched strength, edge hold and performance.
- Bi-Lite Fibreglass: Combines many of the strength characteristics of the STS fibreglass with an ultra light glass fibre matrix. This delivers incredible freestyle and freeride performance without sacrificing durability.
- Durasurf XT Sintered 5501 Base: An exclusive, super fast, durable sintered base specifically for NS boards. Just the right amount of graphite has been added making the it one of the fastest and certainly the most durable P-Tex bases on the market.
- RDS² Dampening: The perfect balance of freeride stability and freestyle liveliness. A more substantial system than a freestyle board to stabilse at higher speeds but a little less dampening than in a freeride board for leaving the snow. An ideal combination of vibration absorption and energetic feel.
- Elastomeric Underfoot Stabilisers: Directly below the mounts, providing optimum vibration and shock absorption and increase high-speed stability. These underfoot stabilisers also add cushioning while reducing foot fatigue.
- P-tex Nose/Tail Protection: Places UHMW or Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene out to the ends of the board for incredible durability. This material protects these crucial ends of the boards from impact damage and will not crack or break. It not only absorbs impact but also a high amount of residual vibration, while sealing and protecting the wood core.
